Opening: Grain Store
When the developers of One Pancras Square first visited their prime site by Kings Cross station, they took time to admire Sir Gilbert Scott's Victorian Gothic architecture at St Pancras and the work of Lewis Cubitt at the Great Northern Hotel. They wondered how the German Gymnasium building got it's name while strolling up to the 19th century Grade 2 listed Granary Building, which Cubitt also designed, and now seamlessly blends old railway sheds with the modern entrance to Central Saint Martins University, and then finally walked around the unusually stylish petrol station across the canal. → Read more

Queue watch: Victus & Bibo
The queue for the Turkish pizza and wraps at Victus & Bibo isn't as obvious as some other street food venues on Leather Lane because the line begins around the back of the cheap clothes racks, but it can get as long as any of them, except Daddy Donkey obviously. → Read more

New on Redchurch Street
Once upon a time the only places to get lunch in Shoreditch were B.L.T. Deli, Ruby, G Franco's and that was about it. All are still going strong but in the last year or two they've been joined by a whole shopping centre worth of chains which now includes a new Pret on Shoreditch High Street and Bill's, who open on 1 July in the not going to be as cool as it used to be Hoxton Square. → Read more

You're a successful City type who can eat in fancy restaurants as often as you please but there are times when just a sandwich and a drink is enough.
