Adagio has opened on Greek Street in Soho and it's much like Malletti with a counter full of fresh pizza which are heated up to order but the novelty is that you choose the portion size and prices are calculated by weight so without a good eye for pizza mass you might have to suppress a cough when the £8 bill arrives for two healthy looking slices. Can you ask for a bit to be cut off if it's too much?
The base is thicker and crispier than Malletti and they are quite nice slices, but £4-£5 worth to satisfy a pizza craving is plenty and the staff suggested portion sizes are more sensible. It was quite busy at lunch so maybe the franchise will catch on but a little less cheese would be better and healthier. The nearby Princi has no trouble charging £4+ for a slice that's mostly bread, is often cold and you might have to eat standing up, but then again Princi is cool.
