Like much of Farringdon, the old Alford's delicatessen had to close because of work on the new Crossrail station and with Alford's of Cannon Street long gone, it looked like their name was going to disappear but this week they've reopened a little further down Farringdon Street next to Vivat Bacchus. The much bigger space has been decorated in a bright country kitchen style and a full cafe menu is available with breakfasts, sandwiches, savouries and daily specials. The official opening is on Tuesday.
