West End Salad Queue Watch
Despite having lots of cash, two Michelin starred restaurants within a stone's throw and the Goodman steakhouse even closer, the people of Mayfair were mainly going to Vital Ingredient on Maddox Street for a nice healthy salad on a Monday lunch.

The queue was made more impressive by the long shop interior where there could have been another thirty people waiting patiently in line. This may all be part of a post heavy weekend detox ritual and there aren't many salad bars in the area but a similar sight could also be found in Soho at Pure on Beak Street, so it's not just burritos and burgers that get the big queues.

The basic make your own salad at Vital is £5.60 and includes the rice/leaves/pasta base, a generous five portions of salad and a meat option. The narrow space also means staff toss the salad right in front of you on the counter which helps prevent "not too much dressing" turning into a drowning.
