Good falafels: Honey & Co
In the quiet Fitzrovian roads north of Goodge Street it's possible to find yourself at least a hundred yards from the nearest Pret, EAT or Itsu and amongst cafes and restaurants which have barely changed in years. Lack of footfall keeps the chains away, but rents must be lower and with plenty of people working in the area it should be an ideal neighbourhood for interesting new restaurants to open, such as Honey & Co.

Named after the owners and chef/FOH/husband/wife team, who will soon be getting bored with reviews that reference their past at Ottolenghi and NOPI, they serve food from the Middle East in a simple white walled dining room with a line of cakes in front of the window. Sounds strangely familiar.

Yemen appears to be the place to go for falafels as a plate of 6 in a Yemeni style with tahini, salad and pita for £8 were excellent and there's lots of cool things on the menu such as a Middle Eastern sausage and eggs - Shakshuka (eggs baked in tomato and pepper sauce) with grilled Merguez sausages & bread. Try that with a juice made with their own foraged elderflowers. Apparently they are getting very busy and receive this kind of love on Twitter.
